MAT & Addiction Recovery
Freedom from Addiction Starts with One Decision.
Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is the gold standard of care for opioid and alcohol use disorders. It's science. It's effective. And at Aelia Health, it's delivered with total respect for who you are.
Private. Confidential. Covered by Apple Health.
You've Probably Heard the Myths. Here's the Truth.
“MAT is just replacing one drug with another.”
MAT uses FDA-approved medications like buprenorphine/naloxone (Suboxone) to stabilize brain chemistry, reduce cravings, and prevent withdrawal—so you can do the real work of recovery. It's like insulin for diabetes: a medical treatment for a medical condition.
“You're not really sober if you're on MAT.”
Sobriety is about your life, not your prescription list. MAT reduces overdose risk by over 50%. It helps you keep your job, your family, your future. That's recovery.
“You'll be on it forever.”
Some people use MAT short-term to stabilize. Some use it long-term for chronic disease management. Both are valid. Dr. Morholt works with YOU on your goals. There's no one-size-fits-all timeline.
